ABOUT
I am a designer and entrepreneur from Lahore, designing for the web since 1997. I am a user centered design practitioner who strongly believes in the need for usable design in the modern connected world. I have a Masters Degree in Human Computer Interaction with Ergonomics from University College London, UK and a BSc (Hons) in Computer Sciences from UET Lahore. I have gained over 10 years of experience in software interface design and engineering at various organisations in Pakistan and the UK. I also have almost 3 years of teaching and training experience in design related subjects. Download my Resume / Curriculum Vitae.
I have had the opportunity to work in various roles. From a web designer to a research associate I paved my way to my MSc in Human Computer Interaction from University College London (UCL) in 2005. Just before I graduated from UCL, I started working as the Interaction Designer and team lead in Leeds, UK for a major web application: ScribeForce.
Since 2008 I have been working with a couple of like-minded people at a design firm called Obscure Interactive in Lahore. The primary focus of Obscure Interactive is on web based products and services. As the Lead User Experience Designer/Consultant there I work on various projects simultaneously. Multi-tasking is the keyword here! I am essentially involved at most stages of every project. Research, strategy, prototyping, and visual design are just one small aspect of my work here at Obscure Interactive. I also manage and lead a multidisciplinary team that includes web designers, programmers, marketing folks, and usability professionals.
Most of my current activities, work, and interests are highlighted through-out this blog. For more information about me you may also visit my profile on LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/ahmedshuja or send me an email – ahmedshuja at msn . com
